Day 51

Here’s Lookin’ at You
Yeah, those are the same eye shots of Gretchen when we took the Eyephone photo (link). I just got my new 30″ LCD monitor and set it up, so I thought this would be a cool way to show it of. ^_^
But in all seriousness, it’s way overkill to have two of these monitors.
I noticed when I would look at my photos on Tay’s computer I would see a whole bunch of things that I couldn’t on mine (brush strokes and the like from edits). So I did some research and decided I should get a new monitor that was capable of better contrast and color representation for photo editing. I was originally going to “just” get a 24″ monitor to go next to my current 30″ display, but you know how it is… when I start researching something, I immediately need the best! Well, this isn’t exactly the best, but it’s pretty darn good. The HP ZR30w. Capable of displaying 1 billion colors with a tremendous contrast ratio. Sweeet. But anyway, I’m gonna try to sell my old monitor. Any takers??

So… which one is the new monitor? It’s interesting how different the displays are!
If this is a starving artistry blog why are we talking about $1,200 monitors? Ben, you are not a starving artist if you have one of these let alone two. A little self-reflection might be necessary here. I present you with the definition of starve.
starve /stɑrv/ Show Spelled
[stahrv] Show IPA
verb, starved, starv·ing.
–verb (used without object)
1. to die or perish from lack of food or nourishment.
2. to be in the process of perishing or suffering severely from hunger.
3. to suffer from extreme poverty and need.
4. to feel a strong need or desire: The child was starving for affection.
5. Chiefly British Dialect . to perish or suffer extremely from cold.
6. Obsolete . to die.
–verb (used with object)
7. to cause to starve; kill, weaken, or reduce by lack of food.
8. to subdue, or force to some condition or action, by hunger: to starve a besieged garrison into a surrender.
9. to cause to suffer for lack of something needed or craved.
10. Chiefly British Dialect . to cause to perish, or to suffer extremely, from cold.
You are no starving artist sir and suggesting you are is insulting to those of us that can’t afford such luxuries.
Indeed, I am not starving, but I appreciate the clarification on the definition, Steve!
Actually definition #4 fits…. So really, I’m not sure what the problem is?
Rock on Ben! Let the haters hate. Maybe Steve should look up the definition of imagination; he is definitely lacking one.
